AMSTERDAM -- Rutger Wolfson, the new director of the International Film Festival of Rotterdam, on Tuesday announced the first details of the next edition, which runs Jan. 23-Feb. 3.

Wolfson, who replaced Sandra den Hamer in September and will hold office for one year, will focus the event on "Free Radicals -- filmmakers and artists who idiosyncratically and energetically follow their own course."

As part of the festival, filmmaker Robert Breer and artist Cameron Jamie will be honored with special programs.
