NYFW: Inside The Row's Chic (and Civilized) Runway Show

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen prove you can host a chill presentation and deliver the chicest clothes to boot.

The Row opted to host an intimate early morning presentation for fall 2016 at their Greenwich Street office in NYC’s West Village neighborhood. A far cry from the usual craziness of fashion week, guests milled about the studio, sipping coffee and perusing racks of clothes — the office’s midcentury modern decor with rich walnut, brass fixtures, camel suede and ivory boucle-upholstered furniture was as inviting as one of the designers' snuggly mohair sheath dresses (and a nice respite from the snowfall outside).

Designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, the 2015 CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year winners, sat perched side by side on the floor with coffee cups in hand as models walked the carpet runway. Per usual, the offerings included the chicest, wearable pieces in a mostly neutral palette with the occasional soft peach or lilac look — long slip dresses, layerable knits and relaxed trousers were teamed with an array of coats (the focal point of the new collection).

No makeup-makeup and cool, flat, black leather boots with a hint of metal hardware completed the enviable street-ready styles.
