Russia Box Office: 'Spectre' Debuts on Top

'The Martian' stayed in the top 5 for a fifth week in a row.

Spectre was the champion of this past weekend in Russia, followed by Hotel Transylvania 2.

The new James Bond movie grossed 407.4 million rubles ($6.3 million), according to data from the company Movie Research.

Hotel Transylvania 2, which was the highest-grossing movie two weekends ago, was able to stay in second place for a second weekend.

The animated family comedy added 154 million rubles ($2.4 million) to its gross.

The Last Witch Hunter, the previous weekend's champion, slipped to third place. Breck Eisner's action adventure added 101.7 million rubles ($1.6 million) to its take in its second weekend in theaters.

Black Mass slipped one position down to fourth place, taking in 22.7 million rubles ($351,500).

The Martian was able to stay in the top five for a fifth weekend in a row. The movie added 21.2 million rubles ($328,300) to its gross and is currently the year's sixth-highest-grossing film.
