It says 'Public Games' will be the first reality show taking place exclusively on social media.

The "Russian Facebook" VKontakte on Wednesday unveiled plans for a reality show called Public Games.

Casting for the show is in progress, with Public Games set to go live on the social network in September, the company said.

"This is the first reality show that will take place entirely on a social network, and it is completely organized by communities," a VKontakte representative said. "Also, it will be the most technological [reality show]."

For example, a network that uses facial recognition will determine the least active participants and eliminate them, VKontakte said.

The reality show will feature 24 participants who will compete by completing various tasks, the nature of which were not immediately detailed. They will be filmed by 100 cameras, with footage from them being available around-the-clock on VKontakte.

The winner is set to collect a cash prize, the size of which will be determined later.

Public Games is being produced by Divico and Mastiff, one of Russia's largest reality show producers, known for such shows as Vacations in Mexico and Russia’s Top Model.

VKontakte has more than 95 million monthly users.
