Company will sell ads on satellite, niche channels

MOSCOW -- Russian cable operator National Telecommunications (NTK), which is part of the National Media Group, said it will create a TV ad sales outfit in a bid to capitalize on the ongoing economic downturn.

As of 2009, the new company is expected to become an official seller of ads on several satellite and niche channels, the list of which will be announced in late November, offering advertisers lower rates.

NMG also includes the national free TV channels, Ren-TV and Fifth Channel, but at this point, the new ad seller will only be focused on cable channels that are part of NTK's packages.
