Ryan Lochte Responds to Philadelphia Anchors' Laughter (Video)

"What Would Ryan Lochte Do?"

The Olympic medalist's response to news anchors Mike Jerrick and Sheinelle Jones: "The way I look at it the more haters I have it means I'm doing something right."

Ryan Lochte is a man at night and a man in the morning.

At least that's what the Olympic-medalist told Philadelphia Good Day news anchors Mike Jerrick and Sheinelle Jones, causing that interview to go viral with the co-hosts' laughing reaction after they finished speaking to Lochte about his new reality show What Would Ryan Lochte Do?.

In an interview at the E! Network Upfront red carpet on Monday, Lochte responded: "The more known you get in the public eye, the more haters you're gonna have and that's a given. But, you know what? All the haters, all the name calling goes through one ear (and) out the other and I don't mind it. The way I look at it the more haters I have it means I'm doing something right."

The co-hosts say they had no intention of making fun of the reality star as Jones mentioned during a morning segment, "You know what? We just had a case of the giggles. It almost reminds me of--let's say you're in church or at school--and you're not supposed to laugh, but you're sitting next to somebody and they start laughing and you start laughing."

"It's infectious. It's contagious," added Jones.

Lochte appeared on CBS' Late Show With David Letterman Monday, where he told the talk show host: "I just want to bring swimming into everyone's living room. So, bringing swimming awareness..."

What Would Ryan Lochte Do? premiered Sunday night on E! with a disappointing rating.
