Saban Films Nabs Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren Thriller 'Black Water'

The film marks the fifth collaboration between Van Damme and Lundgren.

Saban Films has picked up Black Water, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren, for North America.

The thriller, which marks the fifth team-up for Van Damme and Lundgren, follows a deep cover operative who awakens to find himself imprisoned in a CIA black site on a submarine. With the help of a fellow prisoner and an amateur agent, he must race against the clock to escape the vessel and expose who set him up.

Pasha Patriki directed the film from a script by Chad Law. Jason Cherubini, Alexander Ferguson, Tyler W. Konney and Richard Switzer produced the feature, with Patriki executive producing along with David Allen, Patrick DePeters, Eric Fischer, Matthew Helderman, Chad Law, Joe Listhaus, Luke Taylor and Viviana Zarragoitia.  

Saban, which recently picked up the Jennifer Aniston war drama The Yellow Birds, is planning a theatrical release for Black Water in the second quarter of 2018.
