SAG-AFTRA Talks Extended Another Day
Negotiations and the existing contract are being extended a day at a time.
Talks between SAG-AFTRA and the studios, represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, were extended Saturday about an hour before midnight, a day after the parties announced a day-to-day extension about an hour before contract expiration.
Under the extension, the contract too is continued day-to-day. It’s unclear whether the extensions would continue past Sunday night, in light of the holiday and the tense situation.
If talks break off without a deal, that would trigger the sending of a strike-authorization ballot that could then lead to a strike starting the second or third week of July. But talks could continue during balloting.

Spokespeople for SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP did not respond to previous inquiries, and the negotiations are being conducted under a press blackout.
