SAG Awards: Megan Mullally Named as Host
The 'Will & Grace' star will emcee the 25th annual ceremony, which is set for Jan. 27.
The 2019 SAG Awards will be hosted by Megan Mullally, it was revealed Wednesday, hours after the nominations announcement.
The Will & Grace star will emcee the 25th annual ceremony, which is set for Jan. 27. She will follow in Kristen Bell's footsteps, who became the awards show's first-ever host earlier this year.
"We are delighted to have the talented, warm and funny Megan Mullally to host the SAG Awards silver anniversary," executive producer Kathy Connell said in a statement. "This is a very special year, and we are all looking forward to a memorable show."
"As a frustrated casting director and full-on fangirl of great actors everywhere, I’m over the moon to be a part of the SAG Awards' 25th anniversary," Mullally said.
As previously announced, actor Alan Alda has been selected as the recipient of the SAG Awards' 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award. Morgan Freeman took home the honor in 2018.
The ceremony will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
