SAG hopes to resume talks

Leadership meets with mediator to discuss possibilities

SAG is hoping to resume negotiations with the help of a federal mediator.

On Friday, the actors' union leaders, including SAG president Alan Rosenberg, SAG's national executive director and chief negotiator Doug Allen and Ray Rodriguez, the deputy national executive director for contracts, met with federal mediator Juan Carlos Gonzalez at the union's headquarters in Los Angeles.

In a statement, SAG said the leadership discussed with Gonzalez its request for mediation and "the possibilities regarding the resumption of negotiations."

Up until now, SAG has said in the past that informal negotiations were taking place with its leaders meeting with members of the AMPTP and industry leaders. Gonzalez is set to meet with the AMPTP on Thursday.
