SAG set to open actors center

Free use of computers among offerings

The SAG Foundation is set to open the doors of its actors center on July 24 at the guild's headquarters on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, featuring a reception area called Aaron Spelling Place.

The center will offer free use of computers for actors to spruce up their resumes; audio/visual equipment to work on demos, voice reels and camera techniques; and seminars taught by industry professionals. The foundation decided to honor Spelling because of his influence in discovering new talent, as well as reviving the careers of others.

"Aaron was an actor's producer, and he loved actors, so it is such a fitting honor that he will have a permanent presence at the Screen Actors Guild Foundation," said Candy Spelling, the late producer's wife.
