Salahis acknowledge that they owe money

'Real Housewives of DC' stars open up to HBO

Michaele and Tareq Salahi of "The Real Housewives of DC" fame acknowledge that they owe people money and say they want to "return to who we were."

All this and more is part of a profile on HBO's "Real Sports" on their charity "America's Polo Cup," set to air tonight, according to the New York Post.

Their annual polo match, under investigation by the state of Virginia for possible fraud, was "bare-bones" this year, according to the report. And six of 20 vendors told HBO the Salahis owe them as much as $25,000.

"Do we owe people money? Sure, sure," Tareq Salahi told HBO, arguing he is simply waiting to collect debts. "It's a trickle-down effect."

Michaele Salahi tells the program she wants to return to who she is.

"We've been the 'it couple' for the past decade," she said.
