Did we mention there's a matching bag?

The master of the stiletto, the creator of the cage heel, innovator and inventor of the wedge — with more than 350 patents, Salvatore Ferragamo was certainly one of the most prolific shoe designers of his time. For the revamp of the Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive store, creative director Massimiliano Giornetti designed an exclusive pair of platforms ($1,290), as well as a bag ($2,100) to match. Taking a page from the famed Renaissance sandal Ferragamo created in 1938 that was inspired by the Italian "chopines" of the 1500s, he updated the shoe with a thoroughly modern aesthetic. The black-and-gold creation features a deco-inspired architectural heel atop a platform base, with a sculptural open toe and ankle strap.

James Ferragamo weighed in on statement heels of the season: "It's all about proportion. We believe that a shoe has to be balanced, and you will see that not only in my grandfather's designs, but the ones you see here."

Of course, if those don't strike your fancy, the store is stocked full of python platform wedges, stacked mules, classic stilettos, the Vara in new fabrications (like a laser-cut suede with a sparkly gold underlay and mirror heel), mink-trimmed ankle-strap platforms and flats, slingbacks and espadrilles from the Ferragamo's Creations collection.

Run, don't walk — the pieces are available at Salvatore Ferragamo: 357 N. Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills.
