Sam Register joins WB Animation

Named executive vp creative affairs

Veteran animation executive and producer Sam Register has been named executive vp creative affairs at Warner Bros. Animation.

Register will run the day-to-day operations of the unit, overseeing development and production. He will report to Warner Bros. TV president Peter Roth, who added the division to his management portfolio in April, following the exit of Warner Bros. Animation president Lisa Judson.

"Sam is an enormously creative, talented producer and an outstanding executive," Roth said. "His energy and passion will be the guiding force as he shepherds the company on a day-to-day basis."

Register has been based at Warner Bros. Animation as a producer since November when he inked a multiproject development and production deal. Previously, he was an animation executive and, later, producer at Cartoon Network for 10 years, where he developed hit animated series such as "Ben 10" and "Teen Titans," and created "Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi."
