Sam Smith, Doja Cat to Perform at MTV EMAs

Sam Smith and Doja Cat are among the first performers set for this year's MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) show on Nov. 8.

The ViacomCBS network on Thursday also announced Colombian singer Maluma, English performer Yungblud and Sweden's Zara Larsson as being among the first stars confirmed to perform as part of the global music celebration.

The 2020 MTV EMAs will be "shot from multiple locations around the world," according to MTV. Additional performers, as well as presenters and a host will be unveiled later.

Smith, nominated for a best collaboration honor for "I’m Ready" with Demi Lovato, will perform at the EMAs after the launch of new album Love Goes on Oct. 30.

Doja Cat, nominated – just like Yungblud – in the categories best push and best new, will be making her MTV EMA debut. Maluma will also perform on the EMA stage for the first time and is nominated for three awards this year, namely for best Latin, best virtual live and best Lat Am Central act.

Lady Gaga leads the nominations for this year's EMAs with seven nods, including in the best artist, best pop and best video categories.BTS and Justin Bieber each received five nominations, including in such categories as best pop and "biggest fans."

The two-hour 2020 MTV EMAs will air globally on MTV in 180 countries and territories.
