Oscars: Sam Smith Performs 'Writing's on the Wall'

The 88th Academy Awards were hosted by Chris Rock at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre on Sunday evening.

Sam Smith performed "Writing's on the Wall" at the 88th annual Academy Awards on Sunday evening.

The British singer, whose Spectre song won the best original song Oscar, was introduced by Sarah Silverman to the stage as the first performer of the night.

Smith donned a black and white tux as he sang while the classic James Bond film introduction and Spectre footage played on the screen behind him. "Writing's on the Wall" was Smith's first Oscar nomination.

The Chris Rock-hosted awards were held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
