"If your vote didn't matter, they wouldn't try so hard to take it from you," the actor says in the ad for the Biden-Harris campaign

Samuel L. Jackson is the face of a new ad for the Biden-Harris campaign in which he blasts Donald Trump and Republicans for voter suppression, while encouraging everyone to participate in the upcoming election.

Titled "Same Old," the ad is a minute long and showcases decades worth of racial discrimination at the polls.

"First, they used the poll tax to keep Black folks from voting," Jackson begins. "Then, it was the literacy test, racial terrorism and violence. New day, same old dirty tricks."

He continues, "If your vote didn't matter, they wouldn't try so hard to take it from you." Pictures of the president and Sen. Mitch McConnell are shown while the actor speaks. "Vote early. Vote like your life depends on it."

The spot closes with a picture of Trump and Jackson saying, "I'm exercising my right to vote and you should too. Not because I want you to — but because he doesn't."
