San Sebastian slates its bookends

'Other Man' to open, 'Brothers Bloom' to close

MADRID -- Richard Eyre's "The Other Man," starring Liam Neeson, Antonio Banderas and Laura Linney, and Rian Johnson's "The Brothers Bloom," with Adrien Brody and Rachel Weisz, are set to bookend the 56th annual San Sebastian International Film Festival.

Eyre's British production about a love triangle will open the festival in an Official Section slot, while Johnson's comedy will close the fest out of competition.

San Sebastian organizers announced two other additions Wednesday: Canadian director Lea Pool's "Maman est chez le coiffeur" and French directors Benoit Delepine and Gustave Kervern's black comedy "Louise-Michel." Both films will compete with the 13 other previously announced competition titles for the Gold Shell.

The festival is set for Sept. 18-27 in Spain's northern Basque region.
