San Sebatian adds films to lineup

Zabaltegi sidebar expanded

LONDON -- A trio of Spanish movies have been added to the San Sebastian Festival's Official selection section, organizers said Friday.

Isaki Lacuesta's "Los Condenados" (The Damned), Javier Rebollo's "La Mujer Sin Piano" and "Yo, Tambien," from directors Alvaro Pastor and Antonio Naharro have been added to the official selection.

And Fernando Trueba, winner of the Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award for "Belle epoque" in 1992, will bring "El baile de la Victori" (The Dancer and the Thief), for an out of competition slot in Official Selection.

Other Competition entries include Juan Jose Campanella's Argentinean-Spanish co-production "El secreto de sus ojos" (The Secret in their Eyes).

Organizers also said a further three Spanish helmers have been allocated slots in the event's New Directors section, Zabaltegi as the event ramps up this year's lineup.

Elisabet Cabeza and Esteve Riambau's "Mascares" (Masks), "Ori" directed by Miguel Angel Jimenez Colmenar and Jabi Elortegi's "Zorion Perfektua" (Perfect Happiness) have been added to the event's Zabaltegi sidebar.
