Sarah Huckabee Sanders Jabs Back at Anthony Scaramucci About Hair and Makeup
The topic looks to be a running gag in the White House press room under the new communications director.
New White House communications director Anthony "The Mooch" Scaramucci had to walk it back over the weekend, after making a remark about hair and makeup that seemed to be addressed at press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
The ribbing continued on Wednesday, when Sanders opened the White House press briefing by saying, "Now, I know Anthony is probably a little bit disappointed that he is not up here today. But since he did some TV this morning, he was able to go ahead and get his hair and makeup done. So I think he'll be OK."
Apparently, Scaramucci wasn’t content to let Sanders get the last laugh, so he tweeted yet another comment about hair and makeup, setting up the topic to be a long-running gag for the duo.
.@SHSanders45 killing it from the podium! Hair and make up is on me going forward as long as you don't take all my hairspray!— Anthony Scaramucci (@Scaramucci) July 26, 2017
The discussion started over the weekend when the expertly coiffed and self-tanned Scaramucci appeared on CNN's State of the Union with Jake Tapper and said, "I think Sarah does a great job. She's an incredibly warm person. She's incredibly authentic," adding that he even offered her "the big office" because she's taking most of the hits from the media.
"The only thing I ask Sarah — Sarah, if you're watching, I loved the hair and makeup person we had on Friday, so I'd like to continue to use the hair and makeup person," he said, later taking to social media to attempt to clarify that he was talking about his own hair and makeup, not Sanders'.
Tread lightly, Mooch.
For the record, I was referring to my hair and make up and the fact that I like the make up artist. I need all the help I can get! #humor— Anthony Scaramucci (@Scaramucci) July 23, 2017
