In a new PSA, moms such as Constance Zimmer, Jordana Brewster and Ginnifer Goodwin rally for proper food labeling.

Celebrities are speaking out in a big way to advocate a cause that hits close to home: their children’s health.

Famous mothers such as Sarah Michelle GellarThe Talk’s Sara Gilbert, UnREAL’s Constance Zimmer, Once Upon a Time’s Ginnifer Goodwin, Furious 7’s Jordana Brewster and The Biggest Loser’s Jillian Michaels have joined forces with more than 200,000 people to support the campaign Just Label It, which advocates for household food brands to be required to label potentially harmful genetically modified organisms used in their products.

“When I started looking into what’s in the food that I feed my son, I discovered how difficult it is to figure out,” said Brewster, whose son, Julian, is almost 2. “I want GMOs labeled so that I don’t need to guess whether or not they’re in our food.”

While biotech companies are trying to prevent Vermont’s mandatory GMO-labeling law from going into effect in 2016 and large food companies already have spent more than $100 million to fight GMO labeling campaigns across the country, Just Label It has created a "Conceal or Reveal" petition calling upon large companies such as General Mills, Kellogg’s and Coca-Cola to disclose GMO use to consumers.

“The vast majority of Americans believe that we all have a right to know what’s in our food and how it was grown,” said Just Label It chairman Gary Hirshberg. “Labeling GMOs is the next logical step in our country’s effort to provide transparent and accurate information to every consumer.”

For these celebrity moms, signing the petition and using their star power to draw attention to the cause (including participation in the PSA below) was a no-brainer.

Said Michaels, who has son Phoenix, 3, and daughter Lukensia, 5: “You cannot conceal what’s in our kids’ food.”
