The pair will play an adviser and manager in John McCain's camp.

Sarah Paulson and Peter MacNicol are joining Ed Harris and Julianne Moore in HBO's upcoming telefilm Game Change.

Paulson (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip) will play John McCain's (Ed Harris) senior campaign adviser Nicolle Wallace, while MacNicol (Ally McBeal) will be his campaign manager Rick Davis.

They join Moore, who has been cast as Sarah Palin, Woody Harrelson as McCain's campaign manager Steve Schmidt, Melissa Farman as Bristol Palin, Larry Sullivan as Palin's deputy chief of staff and Jamey Sheridan as McCain's senior campaign adviser Mark Salter.

HBO Films and Everyman Pictures' Game Change follows McCain's 2008 presidential campaign, from his selection of Palin as his running mate to their ultimate defeat in the general election.

The telefilm is based on the best-selling book of the same name by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin. Jay Roach will direct the script from Danny Strong. The duo previously worked together on HBO's Emmy-winning film Recount. Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman (The Pacific) are executive producing.

Paulson, who has the untitled Kari Lizer workplace comedy pilot at NBC, is repped by ICM; MacNicol, who has been recurring this season on ABC's Grey's Anatomy, is with Thruline Entertainment.
