The film about the Cuban dictator's offspring is aiming for a March start date.

Sarah Siegel-Magness has come on board to direct Castro's Daughter, which is aiming to begin production in March 2014. Smokewood Entertainment Group, founded in 2007 by Siegel-Magness and Gary Magness, will co-finance the project, which is being produced by Mankind’s John Martinez O’Felan and Joe Lamy. Luillo Ruis will executive produce.

The screenplay by Bobby Moresco and Nilo Cruz tells the true story of Aline Fernandez, the exiled daughter of Cuba’s Fidel Castro, who fled her homeland in disguise after clashing with her father.
