Sarajevo Film Festival Competition Lineup Includes Cannes Grand Prize Winner 'Son of Saul'


The festival will also host two world premieres and one international debut.

Cannes grand prize winner Son of Saul, by Hungarian director Laszlo Nemes, is among the lineup for the main feature competition at next month's Sarajevo Film Festival.

The 21st edition of the festival, taking place the Bosnian capital from Aug. 14-22, includes two world premieres and one international debut, all first films, in its main competition, announced Tuesday.

Bosnia and Herzegovnia director Ines Tanovic will present her debut, Our Everyday Life, a co-production with Croatia and Slovenia, about a fractured family struggling with the legacy of war that is reunited after the mother falls ill.

Entanglement, a debut by Turkish director Tunc Davut, tells the story of two brothers who love the same woman.

The festival will also host an international premiere for Romanian director Andrei Cohn's Back Home, about a reunion of a group of 30-year-olds, exposing the gulf between those who succeeded in life and those who were left behind.

Regional premieres includes Son of Saul, The High Sun and The Treasure , all of which screened at Cannes.

Other films in the main feature competition are: Chevalier, Mustang, Panama and Superworld.
