'Saw' ride to open in England

Will open at Thorpe Park in the spring

The "Saw" horror film franchise will spin off into a theme park ride, called "Saw -- the Ride," which is set to open in Thorpe Park in Surrey, England in the spring.
Based on the films from Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures, the ride will claim the steepest freefall drop in the world with a vertical drop of 100 degrees from a height of 100 feet.

Candy Holland, creative director for Merlin Entertainments Resort Theme Parks, Thorpe’s parent company, is overseeing the ride’s development. The new ride will be the park’s fourth major rollercoaster, joining a line-up that includes Stealth, Colossus and Nemesis.

"Saw V" opens Friday in both the U.S. and the U.K.
