The "Ted" producer to reteam with writer Dana Fox on the romantic-comedy.

Scott Stuber and Dana Fox are reteaming on the romantic comedy The Gauntlet for Universal Pictures.

The pair, who worked with the studio on the Vince Vaughn comedy Couples Retreat, will produce the pic, which is based on their original idea. Fox, who wrote such comedy hits as What Happens in Vegas, wrote a treatment for Gauntlet but is not expected to write the screenplay.

Plot centers on a woman fresh off a relationship with a liar and an all-around bad person. When she meets a new guy who is actually a good catch, he must endure the overprotective nature of her friends and family. Project, which is in the early development stages, is currently out to writers.

Universal-based Stuber is coming off two big hits for the studio: Ted and Safe House. Both pics have generated sequel talk.

Kristin Lowe will oversee Gauntlet for the studio.

Stuber is CAA and attorney Craig Jacobson.

Fox is handled by WME, manager Joy Gorman of Anonymous Content and attorney Kim Stenton.
