AFM: Screen Media Takes 'A Violent Separation' for North America

Screen Media has nabbed rights in North America for A Violent Separation, a new crime thriller from sibling directors Kevin and Michael Goetz (Martyrs).

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales actor Brenton Thwaites and Animal Kingdom's Ben Robson star as brothers in a small Midwestern town who are struggling with a terrible truth that threatens to tear three generations of their family apart. Alycia Debnam-Carey (Fear the Walking Dead), Claire Holt (47 Meters Down), Francesca Eastwood (Outlaws & Angels), Gerald McRaney, (This Is Us) and Ted Levine (Silence of the Lambs) co-star.

Screen Media is planning a day-and-date release in the first half of 2019.

Dan Clifton produced A Violent Separation under his Mortem Aut Triumphum banner, together with Catapult Entertainment Group’s Kevin Goetz and Christopher Watkin.

Screen Media worldwide acquisitions senior vp Seth Needle negotiated the deal for A Violent Separation with Mark Padilla of Double Dutch International, which is selling the film worldwide.
