E.W. Scripps said it does not plan to sell its comparison shopping Web site Shopzilla, dismissing a report on a media blog.
"Shopzilla is not for sale," a company spokesman said. Media blog Silicon Alley Insider said that Scripps was trying to sell Shopzilla for $500 million-$600 million. Scripps said in October that it would split itself into two publicly traded companies: E.W. Scripps Co. would include newspapers and local TV stations, while Scripps Networks Interactive would include Shopzilla, Home & Garden Television and the Food Network.
