Scripps Networks Interactive's Q2 profit up

Posts profit of $106 mil amid rebounding ad market

NEW YORK -- Scripps Networks Interactive reported a higher second-quarter profit amid a rebounding advertising market and continued affiliate fee increases.

The cable networks firm, which operates HGTV and Food Network, among others, posted a profit of $106 million, including a tax benefit, compared with $79.5 million in the year-ago period.

Revenue rose 32% to $516 million, or 16% to $454 million when excluding the recently acquired Travel Channel.
