Sean Spicer, Donald Trump Jr. Audition to Voice Kermit the Frog in 'Late Show' Sketch
The longtime voice of Kermit has left his role with the Muppets, but Stephen Colbert has some ideas for his replacement.
Stephen Colbert is on the hunt for the next Kermit the Frog.
Steve Whitmire, the voice of Kermit the Frog for 27 years, left his role with the Muppets this week, and Muppets performer Matt Vogel will be taking over. But Colbert has other ideas.
In a sketch on Wednesday's Late Show, the host showed what it might look like if some other voices tried out for the role.
The famous Muppet was shown in the bit saying some of the Trump administration's more questionable lines, such as Sean Spicer's regrettable comment about Hitler and chemical weapons and Ben Carson admitting details of his violent younger years.
The casting director also had trouble with Donald Trump Jr., who defended his email correspondence with a Russian contact over damaging information about Hillary Clinton: "He's a frog, but he's not dumb. Can you say something a little less stupid?"
