Senator beefs up with Sony deal

As it ramps up its distribution operation, Senator Films has inked a home video and television deal with Sony Pictures.

Details of the agreement still are coming together, but the deal will cover Senator's entire slate in the U.S., including such films as the Samuel L. Jackson starrer "Unthinkable" and the video game-derived thriller "Clock Tower."

"What this deal shows is that the slate we've put together is both an entertaining and commercial one," Senator topper Marco Weber said.

He added that the company will continue to produce and distribute movies "across every genre with a certain edge."
