Setanta Sports nets rights to FA Cup matches

Deal runs through 2011-12

TORONTO -- Canadian pay soccer channel Setanta Sports has snagged the exclusive domestic rights to Britain's FA Cup matches through 2011-12.

Ireland-based Setanta, which already has a four-year deal with England's Football Assn. for the British FA Cup TV rights beginning in August, will air FA Cup matches in Canada during the same period.

Besides live matches, Setanta also will air ancillary FA programming, including preview and review shows, on its Canadian sports channel.
