'Ends of the Earth' is a dramatic love story set against the backdrop of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Amy Jo Johnson, who played the Pink Ranger in the original Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers TV series, has her next movie to direct in the works.

Johnson is set to helm Ends of the Earth, a dramatic love story set against the backdrop of the September 11, 2001 attacks, with Erica Huggins, president of Fuzzy Door Productions — the Family Guy mastermind Seth MacFarlane's production banner — on board to produce.

The Power Rangers alum wrote the script for Ends of the Earth over the summer amid the coronavirus pandemic lockdown. Set in Gander, Newfoundland, the indie pic portrays a romance told over three key moments in a woman’s life where she experiences an intense, yet ill-timed connection with a grief-stricken, guilt-ridden man who she meets against the backdrop of 9/11.

"It's ultimately a hopeful movie about the sacrifice for family and a bond between two people who fundamentally change each other forever," Johnson told The Hollywood Reporter. A summer 2022 shoot for Ends of the Earth is planned.

After co-starring in the Canadian procedural drama Flashpoint for five seasons, which shot in Toronto, and doing a stint on Covert Affairs, Johnson wrote, directed and co-starred in her debut feature, The Space Between.

That was followed up by Johnson directing her second feature, the 2019 drama Tammy's Always Dying, which starred Felicity Huffman and Anastasia Phillips.
