TORONTO -- Canadian producer Shaftesbury Films on Wednesday said it has sold "Overruled," a half-hour teen comedy, to Family Channel in Canada.

A separate deal to sell the teen comedy to the Disney Channel in the U.S. is understood to be imminent.

Toronto-based Shaftesbury, which last month sold the Canadian drama "The Listener" to NBC for its primetime schedule, said production on 13 episodes of "Overruled" is now underway in Toronto, with a late-2008 delivery and airdate scheduled.

The teen comedy centers on a 15-year-old boy, played by Jacob Kraemer, who becomes a lawyer in his high school's teen court.

The comedy also stars Sally Taylor-Isherwood, Jasmine Richards and Nick Spencer.

The teen comedy was created by Jeff Biederman, Jeff King and Jeffrey Alan Schechter, and is executive produced by Shaftesbury's Christina Jennings and Scott Garvie.
