Shankly adds execs

Shankly Prods., a producer-distributor of unscripted TV programming, has beefed up its executive ranks with the hiring of David Brenner as executive vp and Ric Enriquez as head of development.

At the same time, Shankly International has acquired worldwide rights to KCET Los Angeles' "A Place of Our Own," which is produced by KCET, Sesame Workshop and 44 Blue Prods., as well as its Spanish-language sister program, "Los Ninos en Su Casa," which it has sold in Ecuador and Honduras.

Shankly also has acquired worldwide rights to fitness series "My Workout," which it has sold to Coign Media in South Korea, and the documentaries "Lipstick & Dynamite: The First Ladies of Wrestling," "Shakespeare Behind Bars" and "Frontline Journalists: Death and Danger in Afghanistan," the latter of which has been sold in Germany and Poland.

Shankly International plans to present more than 1,000 hours of programming at the upcoming MIPTV market.

Enriquez was vp talent and development at 51 Minds, while Brenner was president of Hippofilms. They report to Shankly founder and CEO Leon Logothetis.

Shankly's original series include "Amazing Adventures of a Nobody," which airs domestically on Fox Reality and is in preproduction on a third season.
