'Shaun the Sheep' Movie Among European Film Awards Animation Nominees

It will compete with 'Adama' and 'Song of the Sea' for the honor.

The European Film Academy on Tuesday announced the nominees for the best European animated feature film honor at this year's European Film Awards.

The three movies will compete for the award, with the more than 3,000 EFA members picking the winner. The honor will be handed out at the 2015 EFAs, which will take place in Berlin on Dec. 12.

The nominees are Adama from France, Aardman Animations' Shaun the Sheep Movie from the U.K. and France, and Song of the Sea from reland, Belgium, Denmark, France and Luxembourg.

Adama, directed by Simon Rouby, is about young Adama who lives in a remote village in West Africa. When his brother suddenly vanishes, Adama decides to search for him.

Richard Starzak- and Mark Burton-directed Shaun is a spinoff of the popular dialog-free British TV series. Its farmyard characters go on an urban adventure in the movie.

Song of the Sea, from director Tomm Moore, is about an Irish boy and his sister, who can turn into a seal. They go on an adventure to free the faeries and save the spirit world.
