Shaun White is sorry for getting “carried away.”

The two-time Olympic gold medalist has issued a mea culpa after being arrested Sunday morning in Nashville, Tenn. White was charged with vandalism and public intoxication after he allegedly pulled a hotel fire alarm, forcing guests to evacuate, attempted to flee the scene and kicked a witness that attempted to stop him.

“I want to apologize for the unwise choices I made over the weekend and for any inconvenience it caused my family, friends, business partners, the hotel and their guests,” White said in a statement via Facebook on Tuesday. “I was celebrating a happy occasion with a ton of family and friends and got carried away. I'm truly sorry for my poor behavior.”

The incident ultimately put the 26-year-old athlete in the hospital, after reportedly falling backwards and striking his head against a fence as he attempted to run away from the scene. In White’s mugshot, he is seen sporting a black eye on the left side of his face.

White rose to prominence as a professional snowboarder and skateboarder, winning two Olympic gold medals and becoming an X-Games staple. In 2011, following his turn at the 2010 Vancouver games, White had a cameo appearance opposite Justin Timberlake in Screen Gems’ Friends With Benefits.
