Shaw Media in Talks for Howie Mandel's 'Mobbed'

Having succeeded with 'Howie Do It,' Canadian broadcaster eyes Mandel's next hidden camera reality show.

TORONTO – Shaw Media is in talks to acquire Howie Mandel’s latest hidden camera TV show, Mobbed.

The interest in the March 31 flash mob series on Fox follows NBC co-producing the Mandel-starring hidden camera pranks series Howie Do It with Shaw Media’s Global Television network.

Mobbed is produced by Alevy Productions, Mandel’s production shingle, and Angel City Factory. The one-hour special, to air March 31 at 9 p.m. after American Idol, will feature people using flash mobs and their Glee-style musical numbers to spring good news on friends and family.

Shaw Media circling Mobbed comes as a potential series could be in the works.
