Shiri Appleby

The “Roswell” alum will star in Lifetime’s upcoming drama “Un-Real.”

Shiri Appleby has signed with UTA, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.

Appleby played protagonist Liz Parker, a human girl who falls in love with an alien, in the cult drama Roswell, which ran for three seasons on The WB and later UPN. She later starred in the drama Life Unexpected on The CW and recurred on ER and Chicago Fire. Last year she had a memorable and much-discussed arc on Girls as Natalia, the perfect new girlfriend of Adam (Adam Driver). She also appeared on the HBO comedy’s third-season premiere in January.

Appleby will next star in Un-Real, A+E Studios’ first wholly owned series, which received a 10-episode order from Lifetime in February. The drama, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Marti Noxon, follows a young staffer (Appleby) on a hit dating reality show, whose job is to manipulate the relationships among the contestants. Megyn Price, Freddie Stroma, Josh Kelly, Nathalie Kelley, Johanna Braddy, Breeda Wool and Ashley Scott will co-star.
