Shout! Studios Names Brent Haynes Head of TV Development
Hiring the former MTV exec follows Shout! Factory's launch of a filmed entertainment, production and distribution arm to develop original content.
Shout! Studios has named former MTV exec Brent Haynes to head up original TV development.
The hire, announced Wednesday, follows Shout! Factory's recent launch of Shout! Studios as a multiplatform filmed entertainment distribution and production arm. Haynes, in the newly created role, will oversee development of content for TV and digital platforms, and continue to grow Shout’s scripted series and production businesses.
"I look forward to building a creative-friendly home where writers, producers and visionary content makers have the freedom to do their best work," Haynes said in a statement. The announcement was made by Shout! Factory’s co-founder and president, Garson Foos, to whom Haynes reports.
Haynes most recently served as president and executive producer of Picture Arcade, his development and production shingle. Before that, he was senior vp of comedy and animation at MTV in New York City.
Haynes also was vp of programming at Canada's The Comedy Network and Space channels, shepherding development, production, acquisitions and scheduling.
