ShoWest focus on Kerasotes brothers
EmptyKerasotes Showplace Theatres chairman and CEO Tony Kerasotes and president Dean Kerasotes will be honored as ShoWesters of the Year.
The brothers will be feted at an awards presentation March 31 at ShoWest. The annual exhibition confab is scheduled to run March 30-April 2 at the Bally's and Paris hotels in Las Vegas.
"Their belief in the strength of the industry is unparalleled, and their dedication to continuing and expanding the legacy of Kerasotes Showplace Theatres is exceptional and inspiring," ShoWest co-managing director Mitch Neuhauser said.
Based in Chicago, Kerasotes operates 935 screens in 95 theaters, mostly in the Midwest. The company is celebrating its 100th anniversary.
Tony Kerasotes boasts more than 40 years of experience in the film exhibition industry and sits on the executive committee of the National Association of Theatre Owners. Dean Kerasotes has 25 years with Kerasotes Theatres and participates in state and national NATO activities.
Kerasotes Theatres traces its origin to 1909, when the siblings' grandfather, Gus Kerasotes, opened a storefront nickelodeon in Springfield, Ill. (partialdiff)
