Showtime sets 'Tara' debut

New comedy series stars Toni Collette, John Corbett

Showtime's new comedy series "United States of Tara" will debut Jan. 18.

The Dark comedy penned by Diablo Cody and starring Toni Collette will air at 10 p.m., following the premiere final season premiere of "The L Word" at 9 p.m. and leading to the second season opener of "Secret Diary of a Call Girl" at 10:30.

In "Tara," Collette stars as a mom with a multiple personality disorder. John Corbett co-stars on the series, a co-production between Showtime and Dreamworks TV. Steven Spielberg, Cody, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Alexa Junge are exec producing.

In other premiere news, Bravo's hit reality series "Top Chef" will return for the fifth season Nov. 12 with the debut of "Top Chef: New York."
