Sierra/Affinity Hires Weinstein Co. Executive Jonathan Kier
He will work with principals Nick Meyer and Marc Schaberg in selling foreign rights to the company's slate, including "Ender's Game."
On the eve of the Cannes film market, Jonathan Kier has been named executive vice president of sales for Sierra/Affinity.
He’ll work in conjunction with Sierra/Affinity principals Nick Meyer and Marc Schaberg in selling foreign rights to the company’s slate of films.
Sierra/Affinity will be shopping a high-profile roster of projects at Cannes, including the Gavin Hood-directed Ender’s Game, based on the wildly successful sci-fi young adult novel, which Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are producing with OddLot Entertainment.
Sierra/Affinity is the exclusive sales agent for films developed and produced by OddLot Entertainment, Bold Films and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, as well as Sierra Pictures and its partner Incentive Filmed Entertainment.
The sales and financing company also represents third party titles.
Kier will work closely with Sierra/Affinity senior vice president of sales Kristen Figeroid. He and Figeroid will report to Meyer and Schaberg.
Most recently, Kier was senior vice president of international sales and distribution for the Weinstein Co.
