Silk, Gilchrist join Lin's label

Newly formed Warner Bros.-based Lin Pictures is staffing up, with Jon Silk coming on board as vp production and Stephen Gilchrist joining as director of development.

The company was formed in January by former Warners senior vp production Dan Lin. The company has a long-term exclusive deal with Warners and is involved in "The Box," directed by Richard Kelly and starring Cameron Diaz; Robert Rodriguez's "Shorts"; and "Justice League."

Lin said Silk and Gilchrist share his desire to make event films that are filmmaker-driven and hopes to capitalize on his hires' international-flavored background.

As vp production, French-born Silk will be responsible for bringing in new material as well as developing Lin Pictures' current slate. He was most recently a director of development at Benderspink, where he set up such projects as "Sweep the Leg" at Summit Entertainment and "Pet Robots" at Disney. He worked at Gold Circle and Universal Pictures and began his career as an assistant to producer Scott Rudin. Before entering the film industry, he was an editor at underground comic book publisher Hippy Comix.

Gilchrist most recently was an assistant to Lin while he was at Warners and worked on films such as "The Departed" and the upcoming "10,000 B.C."
