First-ever cooperative bust leads to four arrests

SINGAPORE -- The first Singapore-Malaysian cross-border movie piracy raid arrested four people and seized more than 4,300 illegal DVDs last week, the MPA said Tuesday.

Intelligence gathered by the MPA identified a Malaysia-based Web site supplying illegal DVDs primarily to Singapore buyers, which also was linked to retail outlets at a shopping mall in western Malaysia. Assistance was sought from authorities on both sides of the Causeway and the operation was successfully carried out Thursday.
