Singapore outfit, Star put on 'Cape'

More Pusan festival coverage

BUSAN, South Korea -- Taiwan blockbuster and Pusan International Film Festival selection "Cape No. 7" has been sold to Singapore's Festival Films, with its cable TV rights going to Star Group.

Star will show the film in seven regions including Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, Singapore, the Philippines, the U.S., Canada and the U.K., Taiwan sales agent Good Films Workshop said Thursday.

Financial terms of the deals, announced on the eve of the Asian Film Market, were not announced.

Good Films Workshop already had closed a deal Thursday with a Korean distributor, but details of the agreement were not disclosed.

The highest-grossing Taiwanese film in recent years, "Cape" topped the NT$200 million ($6.2 million) mark in six weeks. It also has been selected as Taiwan's official entry in the foreign-language Oscar race.

The film will screen Friday in PIFF's A Window on Asian Cinema section.
