Singapore playing big at MIPCOM

SINGAPORE -- Singapore will have its largest-ever presence at MIPCOM this year, with 24 companies selling close to 100 programs at the market, the government-backed Media Development Authority said Monday.

The Singapore slate this year includes Peach Blossom Media's "Tales Alive," which is part of the MDA's drive to promote content multipurposing and also the first project under the Korea-Singapore co-production agreement signed in June.

The nine-episode "Tales" is based on stories written by nine Singapore authors under the MDA's First Time Writers and Illustrators Publishing Initiative.

"Taming the Savage: Prowess, Plunder and Butchery of the Far East Pirates" is a co-production between Singapore's Oak3 Films and Korea's Channel Q.

The made-by-Singapore content at the market this year also includes 46 high-definition factual, lifestyle and animation titles.
