'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants' (2005)

Blue Spruce Productions is developing a stage musical based on the popular 2005 feature.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is getting the musical treatment.

The 2005 movie, which starred Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, Blake Lively and Alexis Bledel, is being developed as a stage musical.

Blue Spruce Productions, led by multi-Tony Award-winning theatrical producer Scott Delman, has acquired the live theatrical rights from Alcon Entertainment and Alloy Entertainment, which co-produced the feature film.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is an adaptation of Ann Brashare's coming-of-age novels that follow four friends who keep in touch thanks to a magical pair of jeans.

Alcon and Alloy, which will be involved in the musical's development process, will maintain the option to invest in and co-produce the stage effort. No timeline or creative team for the project has been announced.
