'Slice' Trailer: Chance the Rapper Makes Feature Film Debut in Horror Comedy

The movie also stars Zazie Beetz, Will Brill, Rae Gray, Joe Keery, Y'lan Noel, Paul Scheer and Hannibal Buress.

A24 released the first trailer for its Chance the Rapper-starring horror comedy Slice on Tuesday.

Chance the Rapper makes his feature film debut in the movie written and directed by Austin Vesely. Slice is set in the small town of Kingfisher, where a number of pizza delivery boys have been slain while working. The rapper stars as one of the survivors, Dax Lycander. He teams up with fellow survivor Astrid (Zazie Beetz) to catch the person responsible for the deaths.

Slice also stars Will Brill, Rae Gray, Joe Keery, Y'lan Noel, Paul Scheer and Hannibal Buress.

The trailer opens with Astrid setting a clear scene of the current ominous state of Kingfisher. "I'm gonna tell you a story about a ghost, a werewolf and a pretty shitty pizza place," she said in a voiceover. "It all started when the werewolf came back to town." Astrid refers to the unknown murderer as "the werewolf."

News coverage about the murders shown in the trailer explains that local pizza delivery employees are in danger. As one of the few survivors, Astrid takes it upon herself to solve the mystery of who the killer is.

"What the fuck does that have to do with pizza?" asked Jackson (Keery). A voiceover answers that the local pizza place is "a gateway to Hell," and that is why its employees are the main target. It is then revealed that the murderer is not an average human, but instead a supernatural entity that is taking over members of the town.
