'Slumdog' fetches DVD, Blu-ray, small screen

Blu-ray comes with digital copy for portable devices

Fresh off its Oscar sweep, best picture honoree "Slumdog Millionaire" is headed for stores March 31 as both a standard DVD and a Blu-ray Disc, the latter with a digital copy for play on iPods and other portable devices.

The 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment release comes chock full of bonus features, including a making-of documentary, commentaries by director Danny Boyle and others, deleted and extended scenes, and, on the Blu-ray Disc only, a bonus music video and the Indian short film "Manjha."

Besides best picture, "Slumdog Millionaire" won seven other Oscars, including best director, original score and adapted screenplay. The film follows a young boy from the slums of Mumbai who, through an appearance on the Indian version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," finds both love and fortune.
